Revisiting The Matchbox, Hot Wheels and Yatming Cars
Back in the 80’s growing up, the big thing was Matchbox and Hot Wheels Cars. They
were the cool, classic miniature cars with the vibrant colors and neat designs. They
even had designed a track for these cars to ride on. Whether you were playing with
them, or starting a collection, they were the things to have. It was a classic feeling of
excitement on a holiday, opening up the package to be surprised by your favorite car.
The swift motion of the car flying through the loops of the track.
Competition Amongst Die-Cast Cars in the 1980's
There was a bit of competition between Matchbox and Hot Wheels. Designed similarly,
both cars had their specific features. They made everything from cars, to trucks, to
buses, and some had iconic logos. Which brand was your favorite to choose?
Other Brands of Die-Cast Cars to Note
Another brand to discuss is the foreign vehicle brand Yatming. They were like the
Matchbox and Hot Wheels but with Yatming was more of a foreign-based toy car
collection.
