Can The US Do It Again?

It was 42 years ago in 1980 with Jim Craig as Goalie saving puck after puck and Mike Eruzione leading the team in victory to the gold in the Lake Placid, NY Olympics. With a feat so great conquering their enemies on ice of the Soviet Union. It had Al Michaels say, "Do you believe in Miracles?" 

Well Do you believe in Miracles again? Flashback 42 years later there is still tension between Russia and the US over the Ukraine. Russia being the big bullies ready to attack. Just as in 1980 in the Soviet Union had a battle with the US over Afghanistan. We today are in similar situations and the tensions are at an all time high. And with the Olympics games we channel those emotions on the ice in the cold of winter in Beijing, China. 

We were never the favorites in ice hockey, as we weren't the favorites in 1776 at war. However, when it comes to battles and wars we overcome as underdogs and we surprise the world as we did stunning the world in 1980 beating the Soviet Union in Miracle on Ice Hockey Game. 

Will Real Life Tensions Play Out on the Ice Again Between Countries?

We can do it again. We can do it with our amateur athletes showing that we are the best in the world when it comes to the game. We don't need to win at a war, but we can win at a war on ice. We have something to prove that we can still be remembered for the country to stand up for the unfortunate that we can channel our roots and put it into the ice. 

With the Ice Hockey Tournament almost underway for the men. Can the US overcome all odds, beat Canada, Finland, and also most importantly Russia with all the teams in the Olympics competing. They may be the underdogs, but they are long overdue and they can do it again like in 1980. Never underestimate the US a lot maybe riding on this Olympics for them. 

Both in 1980 and 2022, US has had tension with Russia. In 1980, there was a Miracle on Ice and US won the Gold Medal. In 2022, there is more tension with Russia. Could USA do it again?
